The 2017 class of St. Paul's confirmation students began meeting almost two years ago, with Pastor Duane Larson and Bev Downey. When Pastor Clark came, they had already formed close relationships with each other and Bev. In the 2016-2017 learning year, they grew together through weekly meals, learning, and prayer; through reading the whole Gospel of Luke and participating in the intergenerational study of the book, Reviving Old Scratch: Demons and the Devil for Doubters and the Disenchanted; and through the death of Hannah Birt-Steeg in November. These are wise and faithful young people, who rely on God through each other, Camp Shalom, and many St. Paul people. Thanks is due to each confirmation mentor and, especially, to Bev Downey, who has provided meals and been diligent and patient in supporting their connection and learning.
